Aerial Operation Expected To Go Ahead On Thursday 13 March Weather Permitting

The general aerial operation to wipe out the painted apple moth, planned for Monday 10 March, is now expected to go ahead on Thursday 13 March.

The situation is being closely monitored and the operation is likely to be carried out tomorrow on Thursday 13 March weather permitting or on the next suitable day.

As usual during term-time, when operations resume, there will be no flying between 8.00 – 9.00am, 12.15 – 1.00pm and 300 – 4.00pm – lunch and travelling times for many school children.

People can also listen to Newstalk ZB(1080 AM), 531 pi (531 AM), Chinese Radio (AM 990) and Radio Korea (1386 AM) for updates. People can also register for regular email updates by visiting www.maf.govt.nz/painted-apple-moth and paging down to mailing list for residents.
