Gay Sydney comes to Auckland every Thursday night

Gay Sydney comes to Auckland every Thursday night

Gay Sydney will soon entertain and inform Aucklanders every Thursday when Triangle Television screens Sydney's first gay and lesbian television show 'DV8'.

The programme examines lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered culture including segments on sport, travel, history, community issues and club culture. As well, 'DV8' will feature queer short films, animations and music videos.

Presented by former Big Brother stars Johnnie Cass and Sahra Kearney, the lifestyle show will go to air in Auckland every Thursday at 9pm starting May 29. The lifestyle programme, featuring an eclectic mix of segments and roving guest reporters, proved to be a huge hit in its home town when it screened in Sydney last year and is expected to be equally as successful here.

Triangle also intends screening the 2003 series of 'DV8' just as soon as it goes to air in Sydney later this year. 'DV8' producer Craig Payne, who is known for producing successful community events, credits the polished production of 'DV8' to a team of hardworking and talented volunteers.

'DV8' will air every Thursday on Triangle Television at 9.00pm . Triangle Television is Auckland's only regional, non-commercial television station and has operated as a public broadcaster to Greater Auckland since August 1 1998.

The channel screens a mix of regional-access television with international news and information programmes. It is non-profit making and operates with no funding from NZ On Air. Triangle broadcasts 24 hours daily from UHF channel 41.
