Community to have its say on Auckland city's future
Auckland City’s community consultation project ‘Future Auckland’, which will identify the community’s priorities for the future of Auckland, has been given the green light by the council.
‘Future Auckland’ will include consultation with community groups and organisations as well as the public.
Councillor Mark Donnelly, chairperson of the Strategy and Governance Committee said:
“Future Auckland is an opportunity for Aucklanders to establish what they want for their city and how the council and other organisations can help get us there.”
Public feedback will be sought midway through next year as part of the submission process for the council’s first Long Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP).
The Future Auckland consultation process and
the LTCCP are requirements of the new Local Government Act
(2002) and will help Auckland City to establish plans and
priorities for the next ten
years.
