COMMUNITY FUNDING FROM HUTT CITY COUNCIL
Hutt City Council has set up two new funding schemes to provide funding for not-for-profit organisations or groups who provide community, social or cultural services to the Hutt City community.
"The funding schemes have a combined budget of $200,000, which is $30,000 more than has been available to groups in the past through the council's annual planning process," said HCC Community Funding Officer Caroline O'Loan.
"And they are in addition to Council's other contestable funding for arts and culture and events funding."
The Community Development Fund will help with operating and project/programme costs while the Community Initiatives Fund is directed specifically at new initiatives or new groups trying to get off the ground.
Caroline O'Loan said Council hopes these new schemes will make its community funding more accessible to the many groups and organisations in the city.
"Both schemes aim to provide funding to groups and organisations whose services contribute to the community outcomes identified in partnership with the community and set out in the Council's LTCCP," said Dorothy Adams Hutt City Manager, Policy and Governance.
Applications for both schemes are now open. To obtain an application form ring 570 6644 or download at http://www.huttcity.info/funding Applications close at 4:00pm on Friday 21 November 2003.
