Call of the wild: Africa Night at the Zoo!
Call of the wild: Africa Night at the Zoo!
If you’ve never been to Africa, Auckland Zoo’s Africa Night on Sunday 2nd November, is your opportunity to experience the next best thing!
This ‘wild’ night of adventure, wining, dining and entertainment starts at 6pm. On arrival you’ll be greeted by the Zoo’s elephants, Kashin and Burma. Keepers will then take you on safari through Pridelands, where you’ll get to go behind the scenes to see African animals up close.
Post-safari and all that exploring will have built up your appetite for a sumptuous authentic African meal, which you can enjoy in the beautiful setting of the Serval Savannah/Hippo River shelter. Later in the evening, ex-game ranger and Auckland Zoo’s Director Glen Holland will present a slide show and give a talk on African wildlife and Zulu culture.
Africa Night (6pm -11pm) is limited to 80 people and costs $65 per person. If the mood takes you, come in African-style dress! (Drinks are not included, but a cash bar will operate). All funds raised from
this event go to Auckland Zoo Conservation Fund, which provides support for the conservation of exotic and native species in their natural habitat.
