Aucklanders responded to consultation days
for Tiverton Road and Wolverton Street upgrade

Auckland City held three days of consultation last week at Liberty Christian Church, Avondale, to receive community feedback on roading upgrades along Tiverton Road and Wolverton Street.

Approximately 200 people attended the open days. The feedback will help council finalise a study to evaluate roading options for managing expected traffic increase along the route, associated with State Highway 20 (SH20) Mt Roskill.

The New Windsor area’s proposed improvements include:
- intersection upgrades at:
- St Georges Road and Wolverton Road
- Wolverton Street, Blockhouse Bay Road and Tiverton Road
- Whitney Street and Tiverton Road
- New Windsor Road and Tiverton Road
- changes to the road layout and/or road widening.

Feedback is invited on-site, via the web site (www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/auckland/transport/tiverton/form.asp) where comments can be submitted online or by calling the call centre (ph (09) 379 2020) which will mail a feedback form.

Auckland City will accept all comments received after the original closure date (7 November) until the end of December.

It is expected that the results of the consultation and a preferred option will be presented in February to the Avondale Community Board and the Transport Committee.

Implementation of the improvements is planned for 2008, when the Mt Roskill section of SH20 is due for completion.
