Council appointments to ENS board of trustees
North Shore City Council has reappointed two key figures to Enterprise North Shore (ENS), the city's economic development agency, and is looking to replace two others who have retired.
The city's strategy and finance committee yesterday (November 11) reappointed sitting trustees, chairman Maurice Boland and Mark Watt who will both get a second three-year term on the ENS board and acknowledged Margaret van der Walt and Lynne Walsh who have now retired.
Committee chairperson, Tony Holman, says the pair have been instrumental in driving ENS's aim of supporting, promoting and encouraging business growth, investment and employment in North Shore City.
"We're grateful for their contribution and wish them well in their retirement," Councillor Holman says.
The council will advertise the vacancies and is looking for people with sound experience, skills and knowledge in business, commerce and governance.
North Shore City mayor, George Wood, Tony Holman and fellow councillor, Andrew Williams, will review and interview candidates.
Councillor Holman says the council intends to appoint and announce the new trustees before the end of this year.
ENS is required to have at least six trustees at all times. The other board members include second-term trustees Maurice Boland and Mark Watt, first-term trustees Les Probert and Rex Chandler, as well as councillor Tony Barker as the council's representative.
ENS was established in 1993 as an
independent, charitable trust to work as North Shore City's
economic development agency. The council-supported agency
drives sustainable economic development and supports the
development of local and regional strategies to create a
vibrant and buoyant economy. It promotes the city as a great
place for business.
