Auctions Popular With Nelson Property Owners

NEWS RELEASE
Auctions Popular With Nelson Property Owners

The success of the monthly property auction events being held by Harcourts’ Nelson and Richmond offices has been so outstanding that property owners requesting auctions have already filled the next event planned for 9 December.

Owner of Harcourts Nelson office, Paul Hedwig said the last session held Wednesday 19 November saw 16 of the 23 properties sold either prior to or ‘under the hammer’, with another three sold within a couple of days, and two of the other four currently negotiating offers.

He added that although owners were often aware that their properties could sell quickly in the current market, they were also becoming increasingly aware of the fact that “the first offer isn’t always the best offer.

“An auction campaign ensures the properties are exposed to the full number of potential buyers to maximise the outcome for the property owner. Buyers also appreciate the time an auction campaign gives them to organise their finances, arrange for a property inspection, and finally decide if they actually want to purchase the property rather than make a hasty decision. We firmly believe the auction process is the best process for both buyers and sellers.”

Harcourts’ Nelson and Richmond offices have been holding successful monthly auction events for about the last four years. Mr Hedwig emphasised that a key factor to that success was ensuring property sellers understood the market and were realistic about their expectations of what their property was worth.

He added that on the whole property sellers continue to be “absolutely blown away with what we are achieving for them.”
