All Black coaches take on a Mission

All Black coaches take on a Mission

Christchurch rugby enthusiasts will get first shot at asking the hard questions when All Blacks' coaches John Mitchell and Robbie Deans front up to fans and critics next week, and it's all in the name of charity.

The pair face the music for the first time since the World Cup loss next Thursday night at a Christchurch City Mission fundraiser. The exclusive $250-a-head dinner is being held at The Christchurch Casino.

New Zealand Rugby Football Union Chair Jock Hobbs will also speak at the event.

Christchurch City Mission Communications Officer Barry Corbett says proceeds from the dinner will go a long way towards helping those in need in Christchurch this festive season.

"It's a fun event with a serious mission. While many rugby fans were hoping for a World Cup win for Christmas, our clients' Christmas wishes are for things as fundamental as food on the table

"We are extremely grateful to John, Robbie and Jock for their time, to the Christchurch Casino for generously hosting this event, and to those corporate sponsors who have bought tables for the evening."

"For those keen to hear directly from our top rugby officials and question them in person, this is a unique opportunity to good to miss."

It's not too late for rugby fans with a philanthropic bent to be at the event Ð a limited of tables remain. Bookings can be made by contacting the City Mission on (03) 365 0635 or by emailing john@citymission.org.nz.
