Still time to comment on region’s open space
Still time to comment on region’s open space
15 December 2003
How important is open space? What will the Auckland region’s open spaces look like in 50 years time?
The Auckland Regional Growth Forum, in partnership with the Department of Conservation and Ministry for the Environment has developed a draft Regional Open Space Strategy to help protect and manage open space in a region facing significant population growth.
The strategy is open for consultation until this Friday (19 December) – so there is still time for people to take the opportunity to comment on the overall vision for the region’s open space network.
Copies of the draft Regional Open Spaces Strategy, the accompanying Technical Report and a questionnaire are available from the Auckland Regional Council, phone 09 366 2000 or on the ARC website: www.arc.govt.nz
Comments and submissions from the public and key groups will be used during the revision of the Strategy and Technical Report in early 2004. The consultation results will be presented to the Regional Growth Forum in February 2004.
