Community Forum - The Digital Divide

Community Forum - The Digital Divide

Community Development is pleased to be working with the Department of Statistics to bring a lunchtime forum to Hutt City community groups.

The forum is free of charge and will take place on Friday 27 February from 12.30 to 1.30pm in Room 3, Te Awakairangi Community Resource Centre, 47 Laings Road, Lower Hutt.

Drawing from recent Census and Household Economic survey data, Shannon Newland from the Department of Statistics will describe home computer and Internet access in New Zealand households and discuss "Who is most affected by the digital divide in the country".

Just under 40 percent of New Zealand households have access to the Internet. Understanding who they are will help Community groups to make decisions around Internet investment.

To register contact Community Development on 570 6644.
