The Search Is On In Auckland For The Registered Master Builders 2004 House Of The Year
Judges responsible for awarding gold, silver, and bronze awards in the Auckland region for the Registered Master Builders 2004 House of the Year Awards have been named and are on the road.
Retired builder John Sheriff, real estate agent Lynn Mayer and architect Morton Jordon have been given the task of judging the quality of workmanship, design, functionality and building innovation within the 91 entries in the Auckland Registered Master Builders 2004 House of the Year and Commercial Awards.
The trio are now judging all entries in the Auckland region, with the local award winners to be announced at a gala ceremony at Sky City Convention Centre on Friday, 9 July.
“All three judges are experts in their fields and have a thorough understanding of the building industry. We are privileged to have them as part of our team. The task they have ahead of them is not one I envy but on the other hand it gives them a great opportunity to view a wide range of workmanship that is of a consistently high standard,” says Auckland Registered Master Builders Association President Diane Phillips.
The Registered Master Builders 2004 House of the Year is now structured on two levels – local and national. Gold, Silver or Bronze Awards are determined in 20 local competitions around New Zealand using a points-based system, with one overall winner awarded in each category. All local Gold Award winners progress to the national competition where they are judged by a new panel to determine national category winners and the 2004 Supreme Award. National winners are announced at a gala event in Auckland on 25 September.
The Registered Master Builders 2004 House of the Year and Commercial Awards is supported by principal sponsor PlaceMakers; and Lifestyle, Commercial and supporting sponsors James Hardie, GIB Living Solutions®, Origin® Timeframe®, Pink® Batts® Ultra™, Mico Plumbing Supplies (Mico Bathrooms), and Housing New Zealand Corporation.
