Stagecoach: Travel From Just $1.58 Per Day
Stagecoach Announces Travel From Just $1.58 Per Day
Stagecoach’s Auckland customers could save up to 81% over the cost of running a car with the company’s special monthly fares starting 1 August. The cheaper passes, only available from Stagecoach’s agency network, means the cost of travel for many people will be as low as $1.58 per day.
“Over the past seven years Auckland has seen significant growth in public transport usage” says Stagecoach’s Managing Director, Bill Rae. “We are now carrying 8 million more passengers per year then we did in 1998 using 100 more buses and almost 200 more drivers.
“However, over the last year, passenger growth has stalled in Auckland. We had a great couple of good years with the booming Foreign Student market and the Americas Cup, but those two factors aren’t there any more. Now it’s our turn to give people another great reason to travel on Stagecoach buses - the ‘Big Ticket Sale’. Our One Zone monthly pass, normally up to $80, will now be $49, our All Zones pass, normally up to $129, will now be $79.
“The greatest single reason why people should consider our buses is the very low daily cost of travel. According to the latest car running costs in AA Magazine, the savings are huge!
“A Stagecoach customer using one of our monthly passes to travel between Glendowie and the City will save a massive 78% over the same cost of driving and parking a standard car.
“A customer using a Stagecoach monthly pass to travel between Browns Bay and the CBD will save a huge 72%. Plus of course you can use the All Zones pass on the ferry from the North Shore too!“ Mr. Rae says.
Stagecoach is discounting its monthly passes from 1 August to 31 October 2004. The lower prices are only available from Stagecoach ticket agents. Prices remain the same on the bus.
