Bypass Contractors To Use Local People
“Contractors for Inner City Bypass will use Local People and Resources,” says Roading NZ
“The building of the Wellington Inner City Bypass is a key part of Wellington’s infrastructure and we understand that several contractors have put in bids,” says Roading New Zealand’s Chief Executive, Chris Olsen.
“I have been involved in discussions with some of these contractors who have indicated that they will be using local and regional people, as well as local resources, to carry out the contract, which also involves installing a substantial storm-water main.
“This is goods news as they will have an appreciation and understanding of the local and sensitive issues surrounding this project.
“It’s great to see Wellington City Council and Transit working together, not only does this save time and money but combining projects will also reduce long term disruption.”
Roading New Zealand is delighted by the level of tender interest Transit has received from roading contractors for the building of the Wellington Inner City Bypass – and looks forward to an early award of the contract.
