CMJ TRAFFIC BULLETIN: SATURDAY 4 SEPTEMBER UNTIL THURSDAY 9 SEPTEMBER

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for ongoing work as part of the Central Motorway Junction upgrade project.
CMJ Stage 1 Ramp and link closures: Saturday 4 September - CLOSED - during the day from 6am until 8pm: Port off-ramp (SH1 northbound) Wellesley St off-ramp (SH1 northbound)

Sunday 5 September - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning: Symonds St on-ramp (SH1 southbound) Khyber Pass on-ramp (SH1 southbound) Gillies Ave on-ramp (SH1 northbound) Khyber Pass off-ramp (SH1 northbound) Port off-ramp (SH1 northbound) Wellesley St off-ramp (SH1 northbound) Port off-ramp (SH16 portbound) Wellesley St off-ramp (SH16 citybound) Northwestern to Southern Motorway link (SH16 to SH1 southbound)

Local road closures: Sunday 5 September through to Thursday 9 September - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning: - Either Khyber Pass Rd near the motorway ramps or Boston Rd

Ongoing motorway lane closures: There will be ongoing north and southbound lane closures at night on the Southern Motorway between the Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and the Symonds Street overbridge from Sunday through to Thursday nights until 2005.

Please choose alternative routes during these closures. Motorists are advised that there could be delays.

CMJ Stage 2 Ramp and link closures: Sunday 5 September through to Wednesday 8 September - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 6am the following morning: Hobson Street on-ramp (SH1 southbound)
Contingency closure: Thursday 9 September - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 6am the following morning: Hobson Street on-ramp (SH1 southbound)
Motorists are advised to follow clearly sign-posted detours during these closures.

The CMJ Project Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Wellington St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.
