CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 23 October until Friday 29 October

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.

CMJ Stage 1
Full motorway closures:
Tuesday 26 October - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Wednesday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St and St Marks Rd
Detour: off at Cook St off-ramp and on at St Marks Rd on-ramp.

Wednesday 27 October - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Thursday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St and St Marks Rd
Detour: off at Cook St off-ramp and on at St Marks Rd on-ramp.

Wednesday 27 October - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Thursday:
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd and Wellington St
Detour: off at Market Rd off-ramp and on at Wellington St on-ramp.

Thursday 28 October - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Friday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St and St Marks Rd

Friday 29 October - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 7am on Saturday:
. Hobson St on-ramp (SH1 southbound)
. Symonds St on-ramp (SH1 southbound)

Local Rd closures:
Tuesday 26 through to Thursday 28 October - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning:
. Either Boston Rd or Khyber Pass Rd near the motorway ramps

Ongoing motorway lane closures:
There will be ongoing north and southbound lane closures at night on the Southern Motorway between the Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and the Symonds St overbridge from Sunday through to Thursday nights until 2005.

Please choose alternative routes during these closures. Motorists are advised that there could be delays.

The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Wellington St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.
