Preschoolers to Push Play at West Wave free

West Wave is offering babies (18 months-3year olds) and pre-schoolers the opportunity to “Push Play” and become more active by participating in a free gymnastics and/or pee wee sports classes on Friday 5th November between 11.30am – 2.30pm.

National Push Play Week runs Monday 1st – Sunday 7th November, and West Wave Aquatic and Recreation Centre are offering free community activities for all members of the family to support the message with something for everyone.

A particular focus for this year is preschooler activities, tying in with SPARC’s (Sport and Recreation New Zealand) release in May of their new resource An Introduction to Movement. The resource advises parents and caregivers of the crucial role movement plays in human development and recommends appropriate ways to incorporate this in children’s lives.

West Wave are also offering a discounted swim and slide session on Friday 5th from 4pm onwards, bring a friend for free to aqua aerobics all week and free casual entry to the Recreation Centre for casual sports on Friday 5th November.
