CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 13 November until Friday 19 November

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.

CMJ Stage 1
Full motorway closures:
Sunday 14 November - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Monday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St off-ramp and Khyber Pass on-ramp
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Monday 15 November - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Tuesday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St off-ramp and Khyber Pass on-ramp
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Monday 15 November to Thursday 18 November - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning:
. Khyber Pass Rd near the motorway ramps

Ongoing motorway lane closures:
There will be ongoing north and southbound lane closures at night on the Southern Motorway between the Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and the Symonds St overbridge from Sunday through to Thursday nights until 2005.

Please choose alternative routes during these closures. Motorists are advised that there could be delays.

CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Monday 15 November until Wednesday 17 November - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 6am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Motorists are requested to follow the signposted detour while the closures are in operation.

If required an additional closure will take place on the night of Thursday 18 November 2004.

The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Wellington St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.
