CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 4 December until Thursday 9 December

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.

CMJ Stage 1
Full motorway closures:
Sunday 5 December - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Monday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St off-ramp and Khyber Pass on-ramp
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Monday 6 December - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Tuesday:
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Tuesday 7 December - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Wednesday:
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

. Boston Rd between Khyber Pass Rd and Auburn St

Ongoing motorway lane closures:
There will be ongoing north and southbound lane closures at night on the Southern Motorway between the Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and the Symonds St overbridge from Sunday through to Thursday nights until January 2005.

Please choose alternative routes during these closures. Motorists are advised that there could be delays.

CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Monday 6 December until Wednesday 8 December - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound lanes between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Sunday 5 December until Wednesday 8 December - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 6am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound lanes between Cook St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp

The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.

Project information centre: corner of Stanley St and Alten Rd, Grafton, 8.30am - 5.30pm, weekdays.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Wellington St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.

Project information centre: 13-19 Howe St, Freeman's Bay, Monday to Friday
9.00am - 4.30pm, Saturday 10:00am - 12:00pm and the first Sunday of each month 10:00am - 12:00pm.

Road users are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation. In the event of bad weather, work will be postponed until the next clear night.
