Stagecoach Buses Free On Christmas Day

This coming Christmas Day, Stagecoach Auckland will run all its bus services for free, including The Link, as a 'Thank you' gesture to it’s customers.

"This year has marked several notable events in Auckland public transport “ says Ross Martin, Executive Chairman of Stagecoach New Zealand. “We have seen The Link bus service benefit from the introduction of Real Time information systems in February. After a successful trial this GPS based system will be rolled out around Auckland City through next year, and we hope the whole region in years to come. “We have also seen the first birthday of the new Britomart Transport Centre, which has rapidly become a beacon in Auckland for the improvements being made to public transport throughout the region. Continued development of improved transport infrastructure and new services in Auckland will see the region’s public transport system become evermore attractive.

“Next year we look forward to the introduction of a significantly improved bus service on the North Shore in April, and then in November the first stages of the North Shore Busway will become active as well. A very exciting year for bus customers north of the bridge! “As is traditional for Stagecoach in New Zealand, we will be running all our Stagecoach and Link buses for free on Christmas Day - our way of saying ‘thank you’ for a great year.” Mr Martin says. The free Christmas Day bus services will run on the normal Sunday timetable.

Customers wanting to check timetable information should call 366 6400 before December 25. The rideline service will not be operating on Christmas Day. Customers can always look at the Stagecoach website for timetable information however. The address is: www.stagecoach.co.nz
