CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 22 January until Thursday 27 January

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.

CMJ Stage 1
Full motorway closures:
Wednesday 26 January - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Thursday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St off-ramp and St Marks Rd on-ramp

Thursday 27 January - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Friday:
. All southbound lanes between Cook St off-ramp and St Marks Rd on-ramp

Ramp and link closures:
Saturday 22 January - CLOSED - during the day from 8am until 6pm:
. Port off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Wellesley St off-ramp (SH1 northbound)

Sunday 23 January - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am on Monday:
. Symonds St on-ramp (SH1 southbound)

Tuesday 25 January - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am on Wednesday:
. Khyber Pass Rd near the motorway ramps

Ongoing motorway lane closures:
There will be ongoing north and southbound lane closures at night on the Southern Motorway between the Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and the Symonds St overbridge from Sunday through to Thursday nights until early 2005.

Please choose alternative routes during these closures. Motorists are advised that there could be delays.

CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Monday 24, Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 January - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following day:
. Southern Motorway (SH1 southbound) between Cook St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp

If required an additional closure will take place on the night of Thursday 27 January.

Monday 24 January until Thursday 27 January - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1 northbound) between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 23 January until Wednesday 26 January - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning:
. Northwestern Motorway Nelson St off-ramp (SH16 citybound)
. Northwestern Motorway Hobson Street on-ramp (SH16 westbound)

In the event of inclement weather closures will be postponed until the next fine evening.

Monday 24, Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 January - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 6am the following morning:
. Northwestern Motorway to Port (SH16 portbound)
. Northwestern Motorway to Southern Motorway link (SH16 to SH1 southbound)
. Port to Northwestern Motorway (SH16 westbound)
. Wellesley St on-ramp to Northwestern Motorway (SH16)

The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Wellington St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.
