Roundabouts for Paremata

Transit New Zealand says work will start this week on roundabouts in Paremata. There will be alterations to the existing roundabout on State Highway 1, and a new mini roundabout will be built on State Highway 58 on the eastern, school side, of the intersection.

Transit project manager Catherine Worsley says the first of six stages of work will begin on State Highway 58 on Wednesday 2 February.

“The work will take about four months to complete. During that time we will make every effort to maintain the traffic flows in the area,” Ms Worsley said.

“The work will be carried out between 9am and 3.30pm. No work will be carried out on the road at peak traffic times. Any nightwork will be advised.” she said.

“The existing speed restriction of 50kph will remain in place and there will be plenty of signs,” she said.
