Warriors join the fight at Auckland Zoo
for International Earth
Day
Special guests Monty Betham and Tony Martin make an appearance at Auckland Zoo on Friday (22 April), joining in the school holiday challenge which asks kids if they are Eco-Warriors or Eco-Wimps.
The zoo is offering a daily programme of activities throughout the school holidays, which focuses on conserving and protecting the environment. It includes daily shows by Reginald the Recycling Rabbit at 11.30am and 1pm daily; an activity trail around the zoo; and the chance to win exciting prizes. Cookie Bear will also be making appearances at the zoo throughout the second week of the holidays, with lots of yummy treats for every child.
On Friday morning, kids will have the chance to meet Betham and Martin, and win some exciting Warriors giveaways. Auckland Regional Council’s eco-warrior, Agent Ani, will also be at the zoo on International Earth Day, with great giveaways and exciting tales of life as a secret agent.
International Earth Day celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. Each year, Earth Day aims to broaden the environmental movement worldwide, and to educate and mobilise people, governments, and corporations to take responsibility for a clean and healthy environment.
The school holiday programme is sponsored by Newstalk ZB, with support from the Auckland Regional Council, Griffins, and Holdson.
