Extra public transport services during strike

Extra public transport services for duration of strike

The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) and public transport operators continue to work together to offer relief during Stagecoach’s six day strike.

Yesterday ARTA announced a number of extra bus and train services along key transport routes in recognition of the inconvenience caused to passengers and to help alleviate the pressure on the regions roading network.

Details of all relief services are available by contacting Rideline on 09 366 6400 or www.rideline.co.nz

Starting tomorrow (Friday) ARTA and Ritchies are adding further high frequency morning and evening weekday peak services between New Lynn and Britomart Transport Centre.

Ritchies will be also be extending the hours of the service between the Civic Centre and Mt Roskill shops on Friday night in light of the Auckland Blues vs Wellington Hurricanes Super 12 rugby game at Eden Park. The service will continue until 9:45pm on Friday night only.

Connex Auckland will also be running special event services to and from Kingsland station for Friday's Super 12 game.

Passengers can catch regularly scheduled services to the game from the Southern, Eastern and Western train lines.

Special services after the game will run from Kingsland station to Waitakere, Henderson, Britomart, Otahuhu via the waterfront, and Papakura.

Passengers are encouraged to travel early to the game to avoid delays that may result from increased passenger numbers during the Stagecoach bus strike.
