City promotion takes to the road
North Shore City Council now has moving billboards to promote events and activities being held in the city.
Two distinctive and colourfully painted Mini Coopers, sponsored by Team McMillan BMW and Team McMillan Mini, are now out on the streets.
Council's events, city promotions and tourism manager, Paul Dunphy, says the cars are currently being used to help promote the Best of British Festival at the Bruce Mason Centre, and the All Blacks v Fiji match at Albany's North Harbour Stadium.
"It's a great way to make sure as many people as possible know about all the great events we've got going on in our city," he says.
"The minis will return to their roots when they become a feature at the opening weekend of the Best of British festival in Takapuna on June 18 and 19."
This year the festival, which will also include classis car rally and is set to become an annual event, coincides with the British and Irish Lions rugby tour.
Other upcoming events the cars will promote include the Sculpture on the Shore exhibition at Takapuna Head in spring, and the Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards.
To find out what's on in North Shore City, keep an eye out for the minis on the streets.
