Be a ZOOPERHERO these July holidays! 9 – 24 July
Auckland Zoo will be full of superheroes these school holidays – pint-sized and grown-up, human and animal.
The Zoo’s 91ZM Zooperheroes Holiday Programme is offering activities centred around the theme of animal and human superheroes, and kids are encouraged to live their dream and dress up as their favourite superhero! They can meet the super zookeepers who work to save endangered animals, learn how they can be environmental zooperheroes themselves, and win spot prizes for the best costumes.
An entertaining and interactive children’s theatre show with Keeper Kev The Stupendous Species Saver, will play every day at midday and 1.30pm, from Saturday 9 July to Sunday 24 July, in the Grasslands Theatre (behind the Zoo’s Information Centre).
As nature so aptly demonstrates, fact is sometimes stranger than fiction, with wildlife rivalling the best comic book characters! Kids can find out about four zooperheroes of the animal world: the New Zealand native which is one of the most intelligent birds in the world; the ape that has the strength of seven men; the reptile which has 360° vision and can make itself invisible; and the big cat that is one of the stealthiest hunters around.
School holiday programme sponsor 91ZM will run on-air competitions to win exciting Zoo prizes, including Zoom Tours behind the scenes, a trip to the Zoo in a Black Thunder, and lunch with some zoo keepers.
As well as the chance to win awesome spot prizes from 91ZM for the best zooperhero costumes, kids will receive a funky Zooperhero mask, fun giveaways and yummy treats.
