CMJ traffic bulletin:

Saturday 23 July until Thursday 28 July

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.

CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Sunday 24 until Thursday 28 July ¡V CLOSED ¡V overnight from 9pm until 5.30am the following morning:
ƒ{ƒnƒnSouthern Motorway (SH1) southbound between Cook St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp
ƒ{ƒnƒnSouthern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 24 July ¡V CLOSED ¡V during the day and overnight from 6am until 5.30am on Monday:
ƒ{ƒnƒnPort to Northwestern Motorway (SH16 westbound) link

Sunday 24 until Thursday 28 July ¡V CLOSED ¡V overnight from 9pm until 5.30am the following morning:
ƒ{ƒnƒnSouthern Motorway (SH1) citybound to Nelson St off-ramp
ƒ{ƒnƒnSouthern Motorway to Northwestern Motorway (SH1 to SH16 westbound) link

Note: That on the nights that the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Newton Rd off-ramp is closed the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Nelson St off-ramp will remain open and vice versa.

During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.

Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.

In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.

The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit¡¦s Central Motorway Junction upgrade project, completed in January 2005, covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps.

Stage 2 of Transit¡¦s Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Cook St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.
