Reduce Vehicle Crime – rob thieves of opportunity
Summer Vehicle Crime Initiative at West Coast Beaches and Waitakere Ranges
Car thieves beware!
Waitakere’s Council, Police, ARC and the community have joined forces to fight vehicle crime at West Coast beaches and the Waitakere Ranges this holiday season.
“Thieves thrive on opportunity, so we are getting together to help motorists have a happy end to their day at the beach, instead of finding their car stolen or broken into,” says Mayor Bob Harvey.
“We are focusing on the beaches and ranges, which are badly hit by car thieves. Everyone can help, by making it harder for thieves to break into cars – by robbing them of opportunities. Make it harder for them!”
“The West Coast Beach activity kicking in this summer period is only one aspect of the multi-agency partnership focusing on crime in Waitakere,” he says
