Fun February Ahead at MOTAT

What do vintage cars, tanks and dinosaurs have in common?

They can all be found at MOTAT in February of this year at a series of fascinating MOTAT events.

Also make sure that you check out the Virtual Room which is wowing people of all ages.

The Virtual Room at MOTAT

Imagine stepping back in time and glimpsing a dinosaur or being transported inside the human brain to explore what really happens there. You can, when you enter The Virtual Room at MOTAT. This award-winning, interactive 3D experience has to be seen to be believed – make sure that you don’t miss out.

Dates

The Virtual Room at MOTAT is open 10am to 5pm (final entry at 4.30pm) from December 10th 2005 until June 30th 2006.

It can be visited seven days a week all year round except Christmas Day.

MOTAT main entrance, Great North Road, Western Springs, Auckland.

Costs

You can enter The Virtual Room as part of your MOTAT entry fee. You can also enjoy the rest of the museum, free tram rides and entry to the tactile dome for the one great price.

MOTAT Events

Galaxy of Cars –Sunday February 5th (Waitangi Weekend)

This is a charity event at MOTAT 2 to raise money for the community, 10am - 5pm. About 600 cars (including some from our own collection) will be on display. This year the designated charity is the Piha Lifesaving Club.

Entrance fees will be a special price of $10 for adults and $5 for children and visitors will pay at the entrance on Motions Rd instead of at the Hangar. Annual pass holders, complementary pass holders etc will be asked if they wish to donate to the cause. Visitors to MOTAT 2 on Feb 5th receive free entry into MOTAT 1. There will be a horse & carriage service between the tram and MOTAT 2.

Military Weekend - Saturday Feb 11th & 12th

Gun battles, tanks, military vehicle rides and camouflage face painting all at MOTAT2! 10am - 5pm both days. Usual entry fees apply or ask about our two day pass.

Fantastic Fire Vehicles - Sunday Feb 26th

A huge number of fire vehicles will be on display along with other emergency vehicles. Held at MOTAT One the event will include emergency themed activities.
