Multi-award winning illustrator illuminates children’s books

Auckland City Libraries and Jabberwocky Children’s Bookshop invites you to attend a free talk by Helen Oxenbury, award winning children’s book illustrator, at the Central City Library.

Helen will be touring both New Zealand and Australia in May to talk about her extensive body of work including her award winning books. Helen is one of the world’s most popular and acclaimed children’s book illustrators, and twice winner of the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal.

Her numerous books for children include her classic board books for babies; We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen; Smarties Book Prize-winning Farmer Duck by Martin Waddell and the Kate Greenaway Medal winner Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

Her most recent title is Alice Through the Looking Glass where New Zealand author Margaret Mahy, 2006 Hans Christian Anderson Author Award winner, in The Dominion Post said recently, “Oxenbury’s pictures have an enchanting colour and vitality.”
