The books they would never leave behind

The Central City Library presents Glengarry Desert Island Reads, a light-hearted celebration of reading on the evening of 31 May. A panel of local artists, celebrities and writers will share with the audience which books they couldn’t live without if they were stranded on a desert island.

Guest speakers include:

- Laureate Award winning actor/director Michael Hurst

- award winning actress/director Jennifer Ward-Lealand

- journalist, music critic and travel writer Graham Reid

- internet ideas wizard Paul Reynolds

- writer and freelance curator of exhibitions Richard Wolf

- book illustrator and artist Pamela Wolfe

- acclaimed painter and writer Jacqueline Fahey

- poet and manuscripts librarian Iain Sharp.

Audience participation is an integral part of the evening. Book early to reserve your place. Tickets include a complimentary glass of wine from Glengarry.

Venue: Whare Wananga, Central City Library, Level 2, 44 – 46 Lorne Street, Auckland City
