Montana Poetry competition at Auckland libraries

Montana Poetry competition at Auckland libraries

Its time to pick up your pen or mouse and get your creative juices flowing! Let loose your imagination and enter the Auckland City Libraries Montana Poetry Competition.

Your original poem can be in any style and on any subject. The winners of each of the age categories (under 14, 14-18, over 18) will be announced on Friday 21 July at a prize giving ceremony at Mt Albert Community Library. Each winner will receive Whitcoulls vouchers and have their winning poems published on the Auckland City Libraries website.

Short-listed poems will be bound into a volume. Past volumes from previous Montana Poetry Day competitions can also be borrowed.

Mt Albert Community Library Manager, Robin Whitworth, says:

“This will be the fifth year Auckland City Libraries has run this competition. The calibre of entries is amazing with some very talented people out there. It’s especially rewarding to hear the entrants read their own work at the prize giving event.”

Entries close on Monday 10 July and all entrants must be Auckland City Libraries members.
