Remembering Rembrandt
Art-lovers worldwide will celebrate the 400th anniversary of Rembrandt's birthday this Saturday.
Here in New Zealand, Auckland Art Gallery has planned a day of activities to mark the occasion.
- Hear NZ's own Rembrandt expert Dr Erin Griffey speak. She is also available for media interviews. Dr Griffey teaches a Masters degree course on the Dutch master at Auckland University.
- See the gallery's own Rembrandts on display in Masters of the Bitten Line: Etching in the Age of Rembrandt.
- Take a behind the scenes tour of the gallery's other Rembrandts with exhibition curator Jane Davidson.
- See the traditional printmaking process in action during a demonstration at the gallery.
