Free Thursday lunchtime concerts in September
Don’t miss the opportunity to experience Auckland City Libraries’ popular lunchtime concert series of talented local musicians and singers that runs until the end of September.
The free lunchtime series began in April this year and has featured a wide range of musicians and singers from professionals through to school performers and music as varied as classical and jazz, through to pop and folk.
Music Librarian Marilyn Portman from the Central City Library says:
“The Thursday lunchtime concert series has been such a success not only in highlighting the library’s music resources, but in establishing the Central City Library as a great performance venue.”
“The series provides a wonderful platform for our local musicians to showcase their talents and we already have a list of performers wanting to take up this opportunity in next years’ programme.” September’s upcoming concerts include:
* 7 September – enjoy lunchtime jazz by the students of Kristin School
* 14 September - students from the Corelli School of Arts
* 21 September – students from Alfriston College
* 28 September – flautist Luca Manghi Details When: Thursdays in September, 12.10pm to 1pm Where: Whare Wânanga, Heritage floor (level 2), at the Central City Library, 44-46 Lorne St, Auckland
