CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 9 September until Thursday 14 September

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.

CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Tuesday 12 until Thursday 14 September - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound from Cook St off-ramp to Hobson St on-ramp

Ramp and link closures:
Saturday 9 until Monday 11 September - CLOSED - over the weekend from 5pm on Saturday, all Sunday until 5am on Monday:
. Newton Rd on-ramp to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound

Sunday 10 and Monday 11 September - CLOSED - overnight from 8.30pm until 5am the following morning:
. Gillies Ave on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound

Sunday 10 September - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5am on Monday:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) to Khyber Pass Rd off-ramp northbound

Monday 11 September - CLOSED - overnight from 10pm until 5am on Tuesday:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds/Port/Wellesley off-ramp northbound

Tuesday 12 until Thursday 14 September - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning:
. Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Port link eastbound
. Northwestern Motorway (SH16 to SH1 link) southbound

Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 September - CLOSED - overnight from 10pm until 5am the following morning:
. Symonds St on-ramp to Southern Motorway southbound

Wednesday 13 September - CLOSED - overnight from 10.30pm until 5am on Thursday:
. Grafton on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound

Thursday 14 September - CLOSED - overnight from 10pm until 5am the following morning:
. Khyber Pass Rd on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound

During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.

Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.

In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.

The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project, completed in January 2005, covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Cook St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St. The SH16 Newton Rd to Western Springs Auxiliary Lane westbound widening project is included in CMJ Stage 2 works.

The Public Information Centre at 13-19 Howe St, Freemans Bay is no longer open on a regular basis. Any member of the public who has concerns about or wishes to discuss aspects of the project may make an appointment by phoning 0800 CMJ CORE (0800 265 2673).
