Final Days To Apply For Funding From Skycity Community Trust
Local community groups and charitable organisations seeking funding have only two weeks left to apply for funding from the SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust. The closing date for applications is 5pm, Friday 29 September.
Trust Chairperson and former Hamilton Mayor Margaret Evans hopes to receive a wide range of applications from local organisations.
“We’re interested in receiving applications from projects promoting the arts, culture and tourism as well as groups that provide care, treatment and counselling in the community.”
Ms Evans says that the successful recipients will be notified in November and receive their grants in December.
Last year a total of 114 community and charitable groups received over $480,000 - bringing the total amount of funds distributed by the Trust to over $1 million.
Highlights included: $10,000 towards a new rescue vehicle for Raglan Volunteer Coastguard; $15,000 towards the Hamilton Gardens Summer Festival; $1,000 for new toys at Hamilton Plunket Toy Library; $7,500 towards costs for the Hamilton Refuge and Support Services; and $4,995 for a new instrument for Hamilton Citizen’s Band.
The SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust was established in 2003. Its purpose is to provide funds for community and charitable purposes.
Funding by SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust will continue each year with applications sought every June. For more information refer to www.skycityhamilton.co.nz.
