Phil&teds presents “buggies for good” to the children’s ward at Wellington Hospital
phil&teds, a Wellington nursery products company, will be presenting 2 buggies for good to the children’s ward at Wellington Hospital this Monday, 4 December, at 10am.
These buggies have been donated by parents back to phil&teds through their revolutionary buggies for good charitable programme. The programme enables phil&teds’ buggies to be rejuvenated by the company and given back to the community.
“When we heard that the Wellington Health Foundation were looking for buggies to be used on the children’s ward it seemed like a perfect home for buggies for good,” says ceo, Campbell Gower.
“Tired children waiting for appointments or children visiting family or friends can rest in the buggies making life easier for their parents.”
The Wellington Health Foundation is a registered charitable trust that raises funds for projects to improve the comfort and welfare of patients and their families at Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals and the Kapiti Health Centre.
It’s a win win, those who receive the buggy win and those who donate the buggy win by clearing out their loft or garage and feeling good about helping others.
“I’m passionate about helping others and am just delighted that by donating our old buggy it can be put to good use,” says Jason Crowe who donated his old phil&teds’ buggy.
phil&teds are very keen to promote the programme so that parents can donate back their old buggies. “All we need now is more buggies,” says Jo Miller, managing the programme. “Once the word is out there we anticipate a flood of buggies, which we can repair and get back out there helping children and families in need.”
Ever quirky phil&teds is NZ’s foremost producer of high quality nursery kit. From out of a Newtown garage in Wellington the company has developed a globally competitive product set including the phenomenally successful 3 wheeled e3 buggy, back and front carriers, porta chairs and the world’s most compact travel cot.
