Aotea Square Market Open Every Day Until Christmas from Dec 8

AUCKLAND, November 30, 2006 – Shoppers wanting to avoid shopping mall madness will be able to visit the Aotea Square Market every day of the week from Friday December 8 to Sunday December 24.

The central city market is held in Queen Street’s Aotea Square every Friday and Saturday from 10am to 6pm. The market will extend to weekdays and Sundays with the same hours. The market is held rain or shine.

“Aotea Square Market is perfect for Christmas shopping with a difference,” said THE EDGE® Aotea Square Market Manager, Peni Drodrolagi. “All of our stallholders are carefully selected to ensure the excellent quality and variety of the goods available. Stalls include fashion, jewellery, Pacific arts and crafts, international food stalls and much more.

During the extended market period there will also be increased entertainment in Aotea Square with. Confirmed acts include Jamaican sounds from Caribbeanz Southern Stars on Saturday December 16 from 12.30pm and punk/ska band The WBC on Saturday December 23 from noon. (More acts to be announced.)
