Spacifix top the bill at Seaside Park

Shining musical stars Spacifix will get the party started at the free Music in Parks concert at Seaside Park on Sunday, 21 January.

The young New Zealanders will be joined by guitar hero Billy TK Junior and hip hop sensation Mes ‘n’ Wylde for an afternoon of great music and family entertainment from 2pm to 5pm.

Spacifix formed three years ago as a high school band and are now making a name for themselves on a world stage. After scoring first place at the Smoke Free Pacifica Beats Rock Quest and launching a new television series, they now have the ear of major record labels in the USA.

The group mix funk, reggae, R’n’B and a whole range of other musical styles to make a sound that is uniquely theirs. Full of colour, energy and theatre the group will be a sure hit with all ages at this Seaside Park concert.

Billy TK Junior is considered to be one of New Zealand's hottest blues-rock guitarists having played with the likes of The Neville Brothers and George Thorogood. The son of Kiwi Legend Billy TK Senior, Billy (junior) is touring New Zealand this summer showcasing his debut album Three Sides To A Mirror.

The Auckland based trio Mes’n’Wylde fuse R ‘n’ B with hip hop and pop to create an infectious funky sound sure to get the crowd dancing at Seaside Park.

The group consists of Mes (James Maeva), Wylde (Kris Lal) and DJ11(Daryll Luki). The band are the previous winners of Mai FM Rhythm Nation, and have performed on a host of national and international television shows.
