Swingin' sounds of the sixties at St Heliers
Relive sensational sixties music at the free Solid Gold Saturday concert on Saturday, 3 February.
For all those who wore bell-bottom trousers, went to Woodstock, screamed at the Beatles or were happy to be called hippies, this event is for you.
The concert is part of Auckland City's free Music in Parks series and takes place at Dingle Dell Reserve from 6pm to 9pm.
The amazing Sixties Iconz show will be spreading happy vibes throughout the park with a host of sixties hits performed by New Zealand rock icon Shane, Scotland's Celine Toner and rock and roll favourite Larry Morris.
The energy-packed show will include songs from Lulu, Dusty Springfield, Cilla Black, the Mamas and the Papas, Cliff Richard, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones... and of course Shane's number one smash hit - Saint Paul.
The concert is the second of two Solid Gold Saturday concerts taking part in Auckland this summer. A 70s-style Solid Gold Saturday entertained a large crowd of concert-goers in Jellicoe Park, Onehunga in January.
With 35 free concerts in the Music in the Parks series there is plenty of music to keep you out and about all summer. So pull on those hot pants, grab some friends and enjoy some swinging summer sounds in one of the city's beautiful parks. Check out www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/mips for a full list of event.
This concert is produced by Auckland City and supported by New Zealand Community Trust, Fonterra Brands (Tip Top) Limited, Ecover - Helping clean up and Solid Gold 93.8fm.

This is just one of 60 free events provided by Auckland City as part of the Ak@Play summer events programme.
