Happy Anniversary Weekend for Lotto Winner

Happy Anniversary Weekend for Lotto First Division Winner in Manukau

One lucky Lotto player has another reason to celebrate this anniversary weekend after winning $1,000,000 on Lotto First Division, says NZ Lotteries Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.

The winning ticket was purchased at Kwik-E-Mart in East Tamaki, Manukau.

"Our winner has just won the opportunity to extend their summer holidays and with one million dollars, they'll be holidaying in style," says Mr McLeay.

Lotto Powerball jackpotted tonight to an estimated $7 million in next week's Draw. "Next week's Draw will be a real cracker with Lotto Strike also jackpotting tonight and worth an estimated $300,000 next weekend," he says.

Tonight's other big winner was Wendy Simonsen from Westport, who won $75,000 live on Lotto's Winning Wheel. Wendy and her partner, Roy, enjoyed a luxury weekend in Wellington staying at the Duxton Hotel, a shopping trip with a stylist for an outfit to wear on the show, and lunch with Lotto presenter Kylee King-Turner, leading up to the winning spin.

Tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was sold by Park Avenue Bookshop in Avalon, Lower Hutt. The serial number is 512-33774081-20XX.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

"Anyone who bought their ticket from any of these winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any NZ Lotteries outlet," Mr McLeay says.
