Southern Motorway (SH1) traffic bulletin:

Thursday 8 February to Wednesday 21 February

Transit New Zealand would like to advise that resurfacing work planned for the Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound between Redoubt Rd off-ramp and Takanini on-ramp has been delayed and will start Tuesday 13 February.

The revised closure dates are as follows:

Tuesday 13, Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 February and again on Sunday 18, Monday 19, Tuesday 20, Wednesday 21 February - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning:
. Southbound lanes between Redoubt Rd off-ramp and Takanini on-ramp

Motorists are requested to follow the signposted detour via Great South Rd while the closures are in operation.

There will be no closures during the day or on Friday and Saturday nights.

Northbound lanes will remain open throughout.

Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.

In the event of bad weather or any unforeseen circumstances, these closures will be postponed to the next suitable nights between Thursday 22 February and Friday 30 March.
