New leaflet to update Stagecoach Passengers
New leaflet to update Stagecoach Wellington passengers of disrupted bus services
A leaflet detailing the latest Stagecoach Wellington services disrupted by driver shortages will be available on the company’s buses from tomorrow (Tuesday).
Last week Stagecoach Wellington apologised to passengers who were affected by service cancellations.
Stagecoach Wellington is advising customers that 15 morning peak and 58 evening peak bus services on busy routes will not operate this week. The services and routes that are affected are shown in the leaflet and on the Metlink website at www.metlink.org.nz
Company officials and Greater Wellington Regional Council, which funds and promotes the Metlink network, are working to ensure peak-hour cancellations are kept to a minimum.
Given the ongoing shortage of drivers it is likely that disruptions will continue for the next few weeks. Until services return to normal Metlink and Stagecoach Wellington will work to ensure passengers are kept updated on disruptions.
A poster will be displayed at affected bus stops showing the services that are not operating.
Ian Turner, Stagecoach Wellington’s commercial director, said: “As some services have been cancelled at peak times this is having a knock-on affect and means that other services on those routes are extremely busy. We apologise for the inconvenience this is causing. We are working hard to return services to normal as soon as possible.”
“However, in the meantime we need to make sure passengers are kept informed of affected services. Making leaflets available is a good way of doing that.”
Information about bus services that are not operating is also available on the Metlink website at www.metlink.org.nz
