CMJ traffic bulletin: Sunday 25 February until Thursday 1 March

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures on the Central Motorway Junction over the next week for installation of Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and repair work.

Full motorway closures:
Wednesday 28 February and Thursday 1 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9.30pm until 5am the following morning for gantry modifications:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) between Fanshawe St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp southbound

Tuesday 27 February – CLOSED – overnight from 9.30pm until 5am on Wednesday for gantry modifications:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) between Cook St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp southbound

Sunday 25 until Tuesday 27 February – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am the following morning for installation of gantries:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Symonds/Port/Wellesley off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 25 and Monday 26 February – CLOSED – overnight from 9.30pm until 5am the following morning for installation of electronic sensors in the road surface:
* Grafton Rd on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound

Sunday 25 until Tuesday 27 February – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am the following morning for installation of gantries:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound link to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound
* Southern Motorway (SH1) to Nelson St off-ramp citybound

Wednesday 28 February and Thursday 1 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5.30am the following morning for installation of ducts:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) at Khyber Pass off-ramp northbound

Sunday 25 February until Thursday 1 March – CLOSED – overnight from 8.30pm until 5am for installation of electronic sensors in the road surface:
* Newton Rd on-ramp to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound

Sunday 25 February – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5.30am on Monday for laying pavement on the road shoulder:
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound to St Lukes off-ramp
* Northwestern (SH16) eastbound off-ramp to northern Motorway (SH1) northbound
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound off-ramp to Nelson Street

During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.

Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.

In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.
