CMJ traffic bulletin: Sunday 25 March until Thursday 29 March

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures on the Central Motorway Junction over the next week for installation of Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and repair work.

Full motorway closures:
Sunday 25 until Tuesday 27 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9.30pm until 5am the following morning for gantry modifications:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) between Fanshawe St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp southbound

Sunday 25 until Thursday 29 March – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am the following morning for gantry modifications:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Symonds/Port/Wellesley off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 25 until Tuesday 27 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning for gantry modifications:
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound links to Port and Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound

Sunday 25 until Thursday 29 March – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am the following morning for gantry modifications:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound link to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound
* Southern Motorway (SH1) to Nelson St off-ramp citybound

Sunday 25 March – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am on Monday for installation of signage:
* Hobson St on-ramp to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound

Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 March – CLOSED – overnight from 12.30am until 5.30am the following morning for gantry modifications:
* Hobson St on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound

Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 March – CLOSED – overnight from 8.30pm until 5am the following morning for barrier work:
* Newton Rd on-ramp to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound

Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning for gantry modifications:
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound to Newton Rd off-ramp
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound off-ramp to Northern Motorway (SH1) northbound
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound off-ramp to Nelson Street

Note: When the Newton Rd off-ramp is closed, the Northwestern off-ramp (SH16) to Northern Motorway (SH1) and eastbound off-ramp to Nelson St will remain open and vice versa.

During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.

Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.

In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.
