Environment Bay of Plenty is running a Bay-wide photograph competition as part of the launch of its new regional magazine, Backyard. The first issue of the publication was delivered to all Bay households in March.
“We’re after photographs that explore some aspect of the Bay of Plenty and its community, and reflect the vision people have for the region,” explains the regional council’s community relations group manager, Bruce Fraser.
The community’s vision is expressed through the eight Regional Community Outcomes, which include having a clean and protected environment, a healthy and safe community, and open and inclusive leadership.
Mr Fraser says all competition details are posted on Environment Bay of Plenty’s website at www.envbop.govt.nz. It also has information on the Regional Community Outcomes to help guide entrants.
“We invite you to have some fun and have a go. You can upload your photographs directly onto our website, so it’s very easy.”
The closing date for entries is Friday 13 April. The main prize is $500 worth of camera gear.
