No More Sex In South Auckland!

Prevention Is The Best Cure! – Discounted Cat De-sexing Campaign. For Immediate Release

Auckland Cat Rescue’s eagerly anticipated South Auckland discounted cat de-sexing campaign launches on the 16 th of April. Targeting South Auckland Community Services Card holders and Tertiary Students, the campaign offers cat spays for $30 and neuters for $20 at five vet clinics around the South Auckland area.

The stray cat problem in Auckland is enormous. Thousands of unwanted cats and kittens die in every single year due to starvation and disease; tens of thousands more are put to sleep in pounds and shelters nationwide as there are simply not enough homes. This problem can be easily prevented by responsible pet ownership, specifically, by ensuring that your cat has been de-sexed by 5 months of age.

Auckland Cat Rescue is calling on pet owners to help reduce the number of stray and unwanted cats by taking personal responsibility for their cats at home. One of the biggest barriers to de-sexing is the cost. Recognising this barrier, and offering a solution, Auckland Cat Rescue together with South Auckland Vet Clinic, Papatoetoe East Vet Clinic, Chapel Road Vet Clinic and Mangere Bridge Vet Clinic are offering a special discount for de-sexing from the 16 th of April to the 16 th of June.

This offer is open to people who live in the South Auckland area and who are Community Services Cardholders or Tertiary Students. Male cats can be neutered for just $20 or female cats can be spayed for just $30. Additional costs will apply for pregnant cats. The normal cost ranges from $55 to $150 at most vet clinics in Auckland.
