Calling all budding music stars

To celebrate NZ Music Month in May 2006, Auckland City Libraries is running a competition where one lucky winner will win free recording time in a music studio.

If you're a musician or singer aged between 13 and 16 years, you have until the 20 May to write a score and/or submit a CD recording of your own original work. All musical genres are welcome and entries can be from an individual or a group.

Finalists will be required to perform their entry live at Panmure Community Library on Saturday, 26 May when the winner will be decided.

The winning entry will win a free day's worth of studio time at The Lab Recording Studio - one of Auckland's premier studios equipped with the latest in digital and analogue format recording equipment and the recording home for much of New Zealand's finest music and talent.

Entry forms are available from your local library.
