New Number One for Barfoot & Thompson
For the first time in four years, Barfoot & Thompson, Auckland’s leading real estate company, has a new number one Salesperson of the Year. Johnson Chen was awarded the title at the real estate company’s annual convention yesterday.
Leila MacDonald, who has taken the top position every year since 2003, came a close second to Johnson and was also Barfoot & Thompson’s Residential Salesperson of the Year. Jane Wang from the Panmure branch rounded out the top three.
These three elite performers were part of the Top 25 Salespeople Barfoot & Thompson recognised for their consistently high achievements over the past year. Mike Butler from the Papakura branch was named Rural Salesperson of the Year and John McDonald from Whangaparaoa is the Commercial Salesperson of the Year.
Director Peter Thompson says it was wonderful to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of Johnson Chen, who has been awarded the top salesperson title once before, and every other year has consistently been number two.
“Johnson is a shining example of what it takes to become number one. He is dedicated and driven in his work, and yet also holds a high position within the Chinese community of which he is a respected, active member.”
Johnson handles a large number of residential and rural sales from the company’s City office and has an outstanding work ethic. Manager of the City branch, Graham Smith, describes Johnson as the hardest working individual he has ever met.
“He is an inspiration not only to our branch but to the company as a whole because not only does he invest 100% in his work, he is also dedicated to his family and Chinese heritage.”
The Barfoot & Thompson annual convention is held at SKYCITY Convention Centre and is attended by over 1,700 salespeople, managers, support staff and members of the New Zealand Realtor’s Network.
