Resignation Of Dr Karleen Edwards – GM Planning And Funding, Canterbury Dhb
Dr Karleen Edwards, Planning and Funding General Manager and Deputy CEO at Canterbury DHB, has resigned to take up the role of Chief Executive, Central Northern Adelaide Health Service (South Australia).
Canterbury DHB Chief Executive Gordon Davies announced the resignation, expressing “regret but pleasure” for Dr Edwards. Mr Davies noted that Dr Edwards “has shown dedication and commitment to developing Planning & Funding into one of the most effective units of its type in NZ. She has always gone the extra mile and is well regarded throughout the NZ health service.”
The Central Northern Adelaide Health Service is the largest health service and employer in South Australia catering for a population of approximately 750,000 with a staff of 12,500 and a budget of over AUD $1 Billion. It includes a number of primary care and community services as well as several hospitals, including The Royal Adelaide, Lyell McEwin, Modbury and Queen Elizabeth hospitals.
Prior to working at Canterbury DHB, Dr Edwards worked in various Health Funding Organisations and was recently appointed to the National Health Committee.
Dr Edwards’ last day at Canterbury DHB will be 15 June 2007.
